Rosscarbery

Co. Cork

Rosscarbery (Irish: Ros Ó gCairbre) is a village in County Cork. The village is situated on an elevated position west of Inchydoney on a shallow estuary, which opens onto Rosscarbery Bay.

This is a quiet spot with good bathing and sea fishing. In the sixth century St Factna founded a monastery here, which became famous for its school.
