Renowned throughout the North-West and beyond, 'Clarke's Master Fishmongers & Salmon Smokers since1945' has recently been transformed into Clarke's Seafood Delicatessen, a bright modern shop offering wines, Irish farmhouse cheeses and other speciality foods as well as ultra fresh seafood and shellfish.
They also sell an innovative range of prepared seafood - their own smoked salmon specialities include traditional oak-smoked salmon (made to the founder Jackie Clarke's original recipe), organic salmon and salmon flavoured with, for example, dill, or whiskey, and they sell (and explain the value and uses of) sea vegetables.
Many of their products have won Great Taste Awards and they offer a fantastic range of services all round anything from providing advice and recipes or lending a fish kettle, to smoking salmon and trout for anglers, who can have their catch smoked, sliced and packaged to order.
Gift hampers are available, and there's an online shop. And the same wonderful selection of ultra fresh fish is also available at their newer Westport shop, beside the Octagon.
