Le Petit Parisien

Recreating the charm and elegance of a 1920’s patisserie, this delightful French-style café strives for authenticity. Pass by the counter of delicate pastries and rustic breads before taking a seat in the intimate interior where low lights, sepia notes, fabric lampshades and antique prints create an old world feel.

Morning coffee and cake customers blend into lunchtime diners, when attractive looking sandwiches and salads vie with quiche and croque monsieur for your affections. But the real struggle will come at the end of the meal when you’ll be torn between that perfect tarte au citron or maybe some carrot cake or chocolate biscuit cake with a strong coffee.

The savoury offerings may be marginally less irresistible than the pastries, but the sweet treats are worth a detour.

At its best table service by young French staff is charming, although they come under pressure at busy times. Luckily the room is small enough to attract attention when you need it.

For atmosphere and a really mouth watering selection of typically French patisserie, this is a one-off.
