Pheasants Hill Farm

Janis and Alan Bailey's home was a small Ulster farmstead for over 165 years until it was rebuilt in the mid-’90s - and is now a comfortable country house on a seven-acre organic small-holding within sight of the Mourne Mountains.

Janis and Alan grow fruit using natural methods, and breed the rare breed animals for which they are renowned, here on this small farm.

They also operate one of Northern Ireland's best farm shops here, selling their delicious rare breed meat and meats from other carefully selected farmers (which, unusually, includes rare breed shearling lamb), old fashioned dry cured hams and bacon, and additive free sausages.

Complementing the farm shop, they operate an excellent online shop: rare breed free range pork, bacon, lamb, beef, venison, rabbit and organic poultry sold in season - the range is seriously impressive, and delivery on orders over £100 is free to addresses in Northern Ireland and the Republic. They even have piglets for sale (for personal collection, of course).

Outside catering is also offered, by Pheasant's Hill Farm Kitchen ('good food - fast'), using only their own and other local artisan foods; hog roasts and barbecues are specialities. Look out for their van at events around the country.
