The Westwood

A sister hotel to The Schoolhouse Hotel in Dublin and the Station House Hotel, Clifden (see entries) this 4* property is well located, on the edge of Galway and convenient to both the city and Connemara.

Set well back from the road, it has a pleasant almost-in-the-country atmosphere.

Guest rooms, which include six junior suites and eight executive rooms, are furnished to a high standard in a contemporary classic style and some have fireplaces (a cheerful addition for business guests away from home); all feature locally handcrafted wooden furnishings as well as all the current technical features including individually controlled air-conditioning, entertainment system, wireless internet (through TV) and free wired broadband, iron & trouser press and tea & coffee making.

The banqueting suites have also been refurbished and this is a popular venue for weddings and conferences.

The Westwood offers a high standard of accommodation for business and leisure at fairly reasonable prices; a range of 2-3 night leisure breaks offers particularly good value.
