This is a purpose-built Dublin restaurants on the first floor above the Terenure Inn pub, and the decor - a contemporary, smart interior in soft primary colours - reflects an innovative food philosophy, which offers colourful, beautifully presented and updated versions of many Indian favourites. Interesting nibbles are provided, and the menu includes specialities from Kerala, Tamil-Nadu and Goa, with pride clearly taken in the quality of ingredients and cooking.
Each summer, from June to September, Vermilion hosts an Indian Summer Festival, following a culinary trail around India - complete with Bollywood movie clips and belly dancing.
Although the menu gives detailed explanations, this is not a traditional Indian restaurant, so don't expect the usual, familiar experience of 'popular' Indian food. Service is friendly and solicitous.
