Located right in the heart of the IFSC, this sister establishment of the well known Dublin Restaurants chain Bar Italia offers Dublin’s financial district no frills Italian dining at very attractive prices.
Outdoor tables and chairs allow customers to enjoy an al fresco espresso or glass of wine, whilst surveying the comings and goings of Customs House Square.
The interior is relaxed, in a clean, café style, with neutral white walls splashed with colourful paintings and gigantic retro light fittings - a little lacking in atmosphere sometimes, perhaps, and you’ll have to ignore Euro pop playing in the background, but a large oval shaped window offers a view of the kitchen brigade tossing pasta and kneading pizza dough, whilst proficient front of house staff are quick to welcome and seat customers.
Like the rest of the Bar Italia chain, the food is authentic and uncomplicated and the wide range of options throughout the day includes fresh salads, soups, delicious antipasti, panini filled with good cheese and cured meat, rustic pasta or thin and crispy pizza.
Everything is based on quality ingredients (D.O.P products and meat from the renowned Downey’s butchers in Terenure), simply combined - with very moreish, flavourful results.
An extensive wine list offers plenty of choice by both the bottle and glass.
As you finish with a darkly delicious coffee topped with a thick crema, the modest bill comes as a pleasant surprise for such enjoyable food - Bar Italia IFSC offers an affordable Italian experience that will summon up happy memories of Italy for many.
