Boyne Valley Hotel & Country Club

Set in large gardens just on the Dublin side of Drogheda town - and handy to the motorway - this substantial hotel has an 18th century mansion at its heart.

Graciously proportioned rooms contrast well with later additions, including 34 new rooms added several years ago. Owner-run by Michael and Rosemary McNamara since 1992, it has the personal touch unique to hands-on personal management and is popular with locals, for business and pleasure, as well as making a good base for visitors touring the area.

While rooms in the old building have more character, the new ones are finished to the high standard demanded by today’s travellers. Fine conference facilities and an excellent leisure centre add greatly to the hotel’s attraction.

Conference/banqueting (450/450); secretarial services. Rooms 72 (1 suite, 13 shower only, 35 no-smoking, 1 disabled). B&B from €50 pps. Pets allowed by arrangement. Leisure centre, indoor swimming pool; beauty salon. All weather tennis; pitch & putt. Garden. Open all year. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser.

Directions:

On southern edge of Drogheda town. From Dublin turn off M1 to N1 at Julianstown; from Belfast turn off M1 to N1 at Drogheda north.
