Brian Wickham’s fine old house is just across the bridge from Dungarvan town centre - it is of great historical interest, and set in wonderful gardens, right on the water.
The house has a homely feel with lots of local information, a lounge and fire for guests, and also a lovely new all-year conservatory with views over the gardens and harbour.
The very traditionally furnished bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views out over the water; they include rooms for families or groups and, as well as en-suite facilities, there’s an extra communal bathroom.
Breakfast is a high point - and includes a hot vegetarian special, with the option of bacon for non-vegetarians! In fine weather, Brian is happy to serve breakfast in the back garden, where there are some wooden tables and benches.
The gardens, which enjoy a micro-climate that allows many ‘impossible’ plants to survive here, are Brian’s greatest love and a source of great pleasure to guests.
