Capella Dunboy Castle

The new Capella Dunboy Castle is due to open in Spring 2008:

Capella Dunboy Castle is steeped in Irish history. Over 600 years ago, the O'Sullivan clan erected the castle. Donal O'Sullivan Beara was the last Irish chieftain to foreswear allegiance to England. On these storied grounds in 1602, a famous battle took place between 2,000 English troops and O'Sullivan's followers.

Capella Hotels and Resorts will respectfully restore the castle and its surroundings to provide a guest experience with the unique flair of the Beara Peninsula and West Cork. Resort amenities will include an intimate spa with eight treatment rooms, fine dining, a wine bar and helicopter service to and from Waterville Golf Links and other courses on Ireland's west coast.
