Cargoes Café

Radha Patterson’s very special little delicatessen and café has maintained a great reputation over more than a decade in business - fine produce for the delicatessen side of the business is meticulously sourced, and the same philosophy applies to the food served in the café.

Modern European cooking works well with some Thai and Indian influences here, and simple preparation and good seasonal ingredients dictate menus. Smoked & fresh salmon terrine, Mediterranean tapas selection and beef & Guinness are regulars, also vegetarian dishes such as goat’s cheese & tarragon tart.

There are classic desserts like lemon tart or apple flan, also delicious bakes like cinnamon scones and Moroccan orange cake and a range of stylish sandwiches. Very nice friendly and helpful staff, too.

Seats 36 (new outdoor seating area, 12). Open Mon-Sat 9 am-4.30 pm & D Thur/Fri 6-9pm. A la carte; sc discretionary. Children welcome; toilets wheelchair accessible; air conditioning. MasterCard, Visa, Switch.
