Citrus Restaurant
Harold Lynch and Beth Haughton's restaurant is a lovely bright space, with windows on two sides and simple uncluttered tables - not a lot to absorb the sound of happy people enjoying Harold's cooking, but there's a good buzz.
The style is international but as much as possible is based on local produce: meats and fish come from the English Market. Harold's menus read simply and are full of things you'd love to try - and a plate of anti-pasti makes a good start with your aperitif, while making the main choices.
Starters might include a mildly spicy fish soup with rouille and there will usually be one or two tempting vegetarian dishes and updated classics such as salmon & potato cakes; excellent raw materials are generally allowed to speak for themselves.
Tempting desserts tend to be variations on favourite themes and a well-chosen wine list is short but sweet.
Service, under Beth's supervision, is charming and efficient.
