Doonmore Hotel
The Doonmore Hotel was built on the site of the Murray family farmhouse in 1968; overlooking the sea and sand dunes, with geraniums along the front lounge, it looks more like a traditional guesthouse than an hotel, and offers old fashioned comfort.
Traditional music is played regularly, and on cold days there are peat fires in the low-ceilinged sitting room and lounge. It is a very family-friendly place with a baby listening service in bedrooms, along with the usual facilities.
‘Murray’s’ is well known for wholesome cooking - home baking, local produce like Connemara lamb and fresh seafood.
There are fine sandy beaches on hand and there’s a fitness room, cycling, sea angling, boat trips, scuba diving and walking.
Small conferences/banqueting (40/80). Rooms 20 (15 shower only, 5 family rooms, 16 ground floor); children welcome (under 3s free in parents' room, cots available at no charge, baby sitting arranged); toilets wheelchair accessible; broadband wi/fi.
