Egans House

Pat and Monica Finn's pleasant guesthouse is situated in a residential area near the Botanic Gardens at Glasnevin, and offers comfortable, well-maintained accommodation at a reasonable price.

The location is extremely handy- not only is it within walking distance of the Botanic gardens, but also conveniently close to Phibsborough, with all its shopping amenities. And an amazing number of places - the airport, north Dublin golf clubs, Dublin City University, The Helix (DCU Performing Arts complex), Dublin port and the city centre - are all very accessible from here.

While the atmosphere is Edwardian, modern facilities are provided, including a PC with broadband in the resident's lounge, plus a giant television and a stereo system, while more old-fashioned entertainment can be had from the piano.

Standards of comfort are high and guest rooms have tea/coffee trays, a desk, internet access, and a safe large enough to hold a laptop, which is useful; all are en-suite, although it should be noted that some bathrooms offer shower only. Breakfast consists of a generous buffet, and staff are friendly and helpful.

Parking is available in front of the house, and there is also on-street parking without much difficulty.

Rooms 23 (22 shower only, 14 no-smoking, 13 ground floor, 4 family rooms). Children welcome (Under 3s free in parents' room; cots available). B&B €50, No SS. No pets. Broadband wi/fi. Wine licence. Parking. Garden. Open all year. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
