Eno Winebar & Restaurant

In a modern glass fronted building in Dublin’s financial district, Eno started life as a wine shop, later expanding to include an al fresco dining area, a wine bar and a stylish restaurant.

Due to its location, it can be very busy during the week, but over the weekend is one of the city centre’s quieter restaurants. Subtly decorated with wine cases and floral motifs, the airy interior is divided into a restaurant area and less formal wine bar area (with comfortable velvet seats, and where food is also served).

While good food is available at very reasonable prices (scallops were particularly enjoyed on a recent visit, and there is always a well-balanced and lively selection of dishes to choose from) wine is the raison d’etre of this establishment, and the exceptionally knowledgeable staff are keen to guide customers to a wine which suits their tastes and choice of food.

The wine list – which covers all major regions and grape varieties, and offers many wines unavailable elsewhere in Ireland - is arranged by style rather than by region, which greatly assists decision making; the wines are reasonably priced too, with most at under €40 a bottle.

Very few half bottles are offered, but there is a good choice of wines by the glass and also a well selected choice of champagnes and sparkling wines, dessert wines, ports and digestifs.

The choice of seating areas allows for those just in for a drink, or a full meal with several different wines.

Events such as food and wine evenings are held regularly.
