Fairhill House Hotel
The Lynch family’s friendly Victorian hotel in the centre of the pretty village of Clonbur dates back to 1830 and has recently been sympathetically refurbished, bringing it up to the standards demanded by today’s travellers without spoiling its character.
Accommodation is simple, but very comfortable for a country hotel. The new decor is gentle on the eye, most rooms have both single and double beds and all bathrooms have a full bath; many a swankier place pays less attention to these important basics.
The heart of the hotel is the cosy bar, also accessible directly from the road, which has an open fire, lots of memorabilia and a sense that a lot of good nights are enjoyed here.
A large restaurant at the back of the hotel also doubles as a small function room for local events.
This would make a very pleasant base for a break in this exceptionally beautiful area.
