Situated in the heart of Kinsale, just opposite St Multose church, this was the original premises of Martin and Marie Shanahan's Fishy Fishy Café (since relocated to nearby Crowley's Quay), which was our Seafood Restaurant of the Year in 2001. The Shanahans' businesses have long been a mecca for gourmets in and around Kinsale and followers were delighted to find that they had decided to retain the fish shop and a more casual kitchen in this location.
This is where you will find the delicious Fishy Fishy version of traditional fish & chips to munch while exploring Kinsale on foot - or, if you want to sit down and take your time, the main Fishy Fishy menu is also offered here, in the deli-café.
And as well as a wet fish shop, offering an excellent range of fresh local fish and seafood for you to cook at home (and they have a cookbook, Irish Seafood Cookery, available for purchase too), you can also buy their range of freshly-prepared dishes, home-made brown bread and wines.
The shop still sells the freshest and best of locally caught seafood prepared for cooking and seafood deli.
