Just 8 miles from Dublin airport in one of Ireland's most attractive coastal towns, The Grand Hotel is well-situated for business and pleasure; set in six acres of gardens, the original building at the heart of this large hotel dates back to 1835, which gives it a certain gravitas.
Recent additions have included an excellent leisure centre, a complete refrbishment of the reception area and extensive conference and banqueting facilities.
Many bedrooms have sea views, the beach (a tidal estuary) is just across the road, there are several golf courses nearby - also numerous other activities, including equestrian, fishing, tennis and watersports - and there is much of interest within walking distance in the town.
Although this County Dublin hotels restaurant is rather lacking in atmosphere, dining here should otherwise be a pleasant outing as, in the Guides's recent experience, menus are interesting and the cooking is very good.
