Killashee House Hotel & Villa Spa

Set in 80 acres of gardens and woodland just outside Naas town, this hotel is approached along an attractive driveway through gardens and the setting is impressive, although spoilt a little by the car parking arrangements in front of the building.

The entrance and lobby areas are striking and a fine inner courtyard is planted with Virginia creeper, which is becoming an attractive feature. A rather grand staircase leads to a large traditionally furnished lounge area on the first floor, with views of the grounds and courtyard and well-grouped seating areas; it's a pleasant place for afternoon tea and informal socialising - there is a pianist at certain times - and resident guests now have the quieter option of a new residents' lounge.

Conference and business events are well catered for, with conference and meeting rooms of various sizes available, and it is a deservedly popular venue for weddings.

Bedrooms, which have everything required for business guests, include a number of suites and some with four-poster beds; all rooms have multi-line phones, data ports, voicemail, fax (on request), and safe as well as the more usual amenities. Formal dining is offered at the beautifully appointed main restaurant, Turners (where a harpist plays at weekends), and informal food is available in other areas.

On site facilities include the new Villa spa (18 treatment rooms), also leisure centre with 25m pool; games room; archery, cycling, woodland walks.
