La Cuvee

Opening onto Mayor Square, and with tables outside, this bright and well signposted destination offers a little slice of Gallic charm in the heart of the IFSC, and delivers an all-round pleasing experience.

At ground level you’ll find sister wine bar EnoWine, a chic bar-cum-wine shop which uses cutting edge technology to allow you sample over 30 different wines by the glass, as well as over 130 different bottles.

Upstairs over the wine bar is the relaunched sister restaurant, a cosy bistro offering French cooking in a modern, upbeat environment. Diners will love the L-shaped room, which has been cleverly divided up into three areas to create atmospheric and versatile spaces (with good acoustics)for intimate dining or a group night out.

Appealingly presented tables have good wine glasses and – a pretty alternative to fresh flowers - lovely dried lavender tied in square vases.

This Dublin restaurants interesting menus feature real crowd-pleasers served with thoughtful and innovative accompaniments. Succulent roast rump of lamb might come with cabbage and mint, sweet potato purée and rosemary jus, for example, while perfectly cooked pan fried sea bream could be accompanied by asparagus and rocket risotto and a chive beurre blanc, making a very tasty dish.

The lunch menu features classics like Croque Monsieur, French onion soup, beef bourguignon and duck leg confit, which make enticing pairings for a glass of something French from the impressive wine list. With a few minor tweaks, such as careful seasoning, this very good food could become really great food.

The charming, enthusiastic staff are a real asset - greeting arriving guests promptly and providing interested, friendly service throughout, they make it a relaxing and fun place to dine. With dinner starters from €4.50 and mains from €12.50, you can enjoy a good value experience in this smart new venture.

La Cuvée is as much about good wine as it is good food, and with the Luas stopping right outside it’s an accessible choice for a night out without the hassle of getting home afterwards.
