Le Fournil

Buy & Learn & Producer

Baking/Bakery / Classes/Courses / Speciality Store

Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

You’ll find all the classics at Frank Pasquier’s French bakery, from crusty baguettes and rustic loaves to gleaming fresh fruit tartlets and precise macarons

Le Fournil

French chef and baker Frank Pasquier is well known in the North-West and this shop and bakery on the Diamond in Donegal Town is a sister operation to the well-established business in Sligo Town, which he supplies with fresh breads from this bakery.

You’ll find all the classics here, from crusty baguettes and rustic loaves to gleaming fresh fruit tartlets and precise macarons.

Apart from speciality ingredients, local foods play an important role as Frank has taken the Irish food culture to heart as well and shows great respect for the quality produce available. He also stocks a selection of artisan foods, and you will find unusual drinks here too, such as the fruit cordials that the French do so well.

Frank’s aim has always been to produce high quality speciality French bakery products that are accessible to everyone - a philosophy which he extends through education too, as he also offers baking classes.
