Liam O'Riain's

Liam O'Riains is a traditional, unspoilt pub overlooking the River Shannon in Killaloe.

It's the oldest pub in Ballina (on the Tipperary side of the river) and it's one of those real old atmospheric bars with a cosy open fire, where people meet to chat and, perhaps, play cards (Thursday nights in winter).

There's music too, with traditional music on Tuesday nights and a wider range on the last Friday night of the month - and always the possibility that a spontaneous session could get going. Not a food place though.

: Open Mon-Fri from 4pm; Sat/Sun from 1pm.
