The Loft Restaurant

Older sister to the Side Door in Cavan (see entry), this thriving two-storey restaurant has much in common with them, notably strong modern decor (including some interesting original paintings by the Northern Ireland artist Terry Bradley).

Exceptionally pleasant, helpful staff and a lively global menu at reasonable prices that lays the emphasis on accessibility: this is a place for all ages and every (or no particular) occasion.

The main menu is similar to The Ground Floor, also with daily blackboard specials.

Downstairs the “Tapas Bar” serves a range of cold and hot tapas, with wine available by the glass and by the bottle.

Seats 90. D daily, 5-10 (Fri/Sat to 11). 2/3 course early D €20/25 (Mon-Sat 5.30-7.30, all Sun), otherwise á la carte. House wine €19.50. 10% sc added to tables of 4+. Children welcome; air conditioning. Closed Good Fri, 25/26 Dec. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
