M O'Shea

Halfway up the steep main street of Borris, this unspoilt old-world grocery-pub is well worth a visit.

The old grocery section at the front links into a modern-day shop next door - a very practical arrangement that brings past and present together in a delightful way.

Conversions and extensions towards the back allow for several larger rooms, where food can be served or music sessions held, and there's a paved area at the back for fine weather. Absolutely charming.

Sandwiches, weekday lunches (12.30-2pm) available, snacks all day. Music every fortnight or so: "it's a bit random".

Closed 25 Dec & Good Fri.
