In a modern building in the centre of Dunboyne, this family friendly café is simple and colourful in style - clean lines, unfussy table settings and a high-ceilinged ground floor area which overlooks a large patio give it a light, bright atmosphere. The food is simple and good, and the menu and the staff are full of information on its preparation and origin.
Various specials are offered, but we would recommend keeping it simple with, for example, the wholesome beef casserole, served with good homemade bread (offered in generous quantities before food arrives).
Dinner is served in more traditional surroundings upstairs on the small balcony on Thursday to Saturday evenings, where more elaborate menu is offered - and this is where some of the excellent classics on the wine list come into their own (a few wines are offered by the glass on the downstairs menu, and the full wine list is also available during the day on request).
The service is unfussy and family-friendly, and very fair prices make this a firm favourite with locals.
