Powerscourt Terrace Café

In a stunning location, overlooking the famous gardens and fountains of Powerscourt House, the Pratt family of Avoca Handweavers operate this appealing self-service restaurant.

It is a delightfully relaxed space, with a large outdoor eating area as well as the café, and the style and standard of food is similar to the original Avoca restaurant at Kilmacanogue: everything is freshly made, using as many local ingredients as possible including organic herbs and vegetables with lots of healthy food.

Avoca cafés are renowned for interesting salads, home-bakes and good pastries, and also excellent vegetarian dishes many of which, such as oven-roasted vegetable and goat’s cheese tart, have become specialities.

Seats 160 (indoors; additional 140 outside terrace; private room 20-90); children welcome; toilets wheelchair accessible. Parking (some distance from the house). Open daily 10-5 (Sun to 5.30). House wine about €15. Closed 25-26 Dec. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
