Real Gourmet Burger

With burgers the in thing on the casual dining scene at the moment, smart informal restaurants specialising in this much-maligned dish have been among the most noticeable new arrivals in Dublin recently.

And, with its handsome lean lined room and speciality organic burgers, the opening of Real Gourmet Burger in 2007 extended the quality options for eating out casually in the Dun Laoghaire area, especially for families looking for good food at a moderate price.

The range of burgers offered includes beef, lamb, venison and chicken and there are options for vegetarians and children, plus simple side orders of salad or chips.

All burgers are cooked medium or well done, due to health regulations which is fine for some, especially chicken, although this requirement is always a disappointment for those who like to sink their teeth into a real beefburger that's pink and juicy in the middle.

Friendly service is usually a high point here, and - although the cooking can be a little uneven- it's reasonably priced and family-friendly.
