This popular day-time rendezvous offers a wide choice of quality sandwiches, wraps, salads, panini, made-up to order at the counter, where you pay and will be served at tables, or at a 'bar' counter - or in a small, covered courtyard with hanging baskets of flowers under a perspex roof at the back - a welcome relief from the heat of the main café in summer.
Good soups, wraps - chicken, cheddar salad and pesto with tortilla chips and sweet and sour dip on the side makes a generous lunch portion, packed with chicken. Or, there are: gourmet sandwiches, panini or house salads, such as Caesar or smoked salmon.
There are scones, croissants, muffins and other treats, good coffees and smoothies available all day.
Although busy at lunchtime Revive is a pleasant drop-in for breakfast (toasted ciabatta filled with smoked bacon, Cumberland sausage, tomatoes and fried eggs), morning coffee, or afternoon tea.
Staff are pleasant and efficient - and complimentary newspapers are provided. Everything is based on fresh produce daily, cooked simply; dressings, pestos, salsa & relishes are also home-made.
