Sea Breeze - Knightstown's Coffee Shop

Gráinne Houlihan’s bright and funky coffee shop in Knightstown village is a great place to break a journey when touring the area.

There’s outdoor seating at the front for fine days and, inside, there’s a pleasingly old-fashioned café with oilcloth-covered tables; aside from terrific coffees, good home cooking is the great strength, especially baking (warm scone with jam, butter & fresh cream, chocolate fudge cake...).

You can have something as simple as a mug of soup and some home-made bread, a speciality sandwich, or one of half a dozen substantial savoury platters, including a vegetarian one, and there’s a small wine list.

At the back, a long corridor down to the loos is decorated with an eclectic collection of old mirrors - an inspired way to brighten up a long corridor.

Toilets wheelchair accessible; children welcome (high chair, childrens menu); house wine from €4 per glass; Open weekends from Easter, 12noon-6pm; open daily in high season (June-end Sep). Closed Jan-Easter. No Credit Cards.
