Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club

Situated near the shores of Lough Derg and adjacent to the 17th century Portumna Castle and estate, this spacious privately-owned hotel is quite impressive on arrival - a large lobby has a polished wooden floor, faux-marble pillaring and ample seating in contemporary style, while other public rooms include a warm-toned restaurant, which can be opened out in summer, and a cosy, pub-like bar with an informal mezzanine restaurant.
