Sliabh gCua Farmhouse

Breeda Cullinan’s lovely creeper-clad farmhouse is in a beautiful area for lovers of the rural life; it is not as old or as large as it looks, but it was built with the classical proportions that create handsome, light-filled rooms, and has a happy atmosphere.

There’s a delightful drawing room (completely refurbished recently) and the bedrooms, which are all individually furnished and decorated with great care by Breeda, are very comfortable and have tea/coffee making facilities.

Dinner is not offered (there are plenty of good restaurants within a short drive) but at breakfast time, wholesome food, based on fresh farm produce, is served in a lovely dining room overlooking the garden; there are home-made cereals, fruit salads, freshly baked breads, local cheeses and hot cooked dishes to set guests up for the day.

The garden is charming, with plenty of well planned paths for guests to enjoy and, just beyond the hedge, a seat set up to take full advantage of the unspoilt country view and the peace.

People love this place, and it is easy to see why.
