The Summerhouse

Behind a pleasingly low key classical shopfront on the main street of this heritage town, The Summerhouse has quietly been building up a following for some years now and - whether to be tempted by the unusual selection of homewares and gifts in the shop, or the edible delights in the café at the back – a visit to Lismore would not be the same without calling in here to see what’s on offer.

The stock offered in the shop is highly decorative, and it includes a wide range of beguiling housewares (including bakeware and lots of kitchen and dining accessories) which combine practicality with prettiness.

Behind the shop, an informal all-day café offers goodies a-plenty, including freshly baked breads and other treats from their own bakery, which are available to eat in or take away – and clearly go down a treat with the many regulars who drop in for morning coffee (Java organic), a bite of lunch or afternoon tea a slice of with one of their all-butter cakes, made with organic flour... Using only the best ingredients is a point of pride here, and it shows.

Proprietor Gael Byrne is also a highly regarded florist and Teleflorist member.
