Temple Country Retreat & Spa / Temple Spa


Although no longer in private ownership (since November 2010), this adult only destination spa continues to operate under new management.


It is in a lovely quiet rural setting and the spa facilities are impressive.


Packages include use of vtality pool, gym, sauna, steam room, footbaths and experience showers, plus a daily programme of activities, including bike riding. Yoga, guided walks, and relaxation classes are also available on request.


Rooms 18  (all en-suite, 1 shower only, 1 junior suite, 1 suite, 1 for disabled, all no-smoking). B&B from €65 pps, ss €25. Midweek/weekend 2 night stay with dinner on one night, €195/€215.


The Garden Room Restaurant:


The restaurant is open to non-residents - guests do not have to be attending the spa to dine here.


Takashi Miyazaki, the Japanese head chef, has been working as a chef and living in Ireland since 2008 and at Temple since November 2010.


Aiming to "celebrate the best of indigenous and international produce", Takashi's team includes local chef Alan Devlin and pastry chef Jacinta Gallagher.


Open by reservation, Wednesday - Saturday; call for further details.
