In common ownership with The Front Door and The Dail Bar, this large traditional pub in Galway shares many of the characteristics that spell success for its city sisters, but is at the heart of the western suburbs, catering mainly for a local trade.
While not old – it was established in 2004, and the ‘old bar’ is a reconstruction – Sheridan’s is very much part of the local community, and this friendly and customer-focused pub has wide screen TV for sporting events and its own Golf Society with monthly events held.
Food is an important part of the operation, offering an attractive restaurant as well as bar meals, and barbecues are held in summer.
Menus are likely to feature soups, sandwiches, salads, pastas and pizza, along with roasts, burgers, steaks and vegetarian dishes. The aim is to provide good food at pocket-friendly pub prices, with main course prices likely to range between about €10 and €13.
Cooking is above the standard generally expected in pubs, with a wide range of daily specials offered to include fish.
A short wine list offers reasonably priced wines by the glass, and bottles under €20.
