West Cork Hotel
This welcoming hotel enjoys a pleasant riverside site beside the bridge, on the western side of the town. It came into new ownership in 2007 and, in addition to recent refurbishment, which had been completed with some style, the function room was extended to make a very pleasant room with river views.
The main entrance is currently from the street (the main through road) and is quite small, but the hotel opens up behind the foyer, to reveal a bright and airy bar along the river side of the hotel, and a modern restaurant, where breakfast is served to residents, as well as main meals.
Bedrooms are not especially large, but they are comfortably furnished in a neutral modern style and have all the necessary amenities (phone, tea/coffee tray, TV) and neat, well-designed en-suite bathrooms, so this would make a good base from which to explore this beautiful area.
Unless there is further redevelopment along the river, rooms at the back should be quieter and have a pleasant outlook over trees and river.
Conferences/Banqueting (400/350); Rooms 34 (2 family, 2 single, 10 shower only); B&B €75, SS €17. Garden. Private parking. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
