The Westgrove Hotel is notable for friendly and helpful staff who do everything possible to make guests feel at home and ensure a comfortable stay

Westgrove Hotel & Conference Centre

In the outskirts of the village, near a small shopping centre, this friendly and well-run 4* hotel makes a good base for business, or for the many activities in the area - notably golf and horse racing.

With a striking fresh floral arrangement in the large lobby as you enter, and a reception table set to the side with comfortable seats for guests, it makes a good impression from the outset – a feeling confirmed by a genuine welcome from very informal and informative staff.

The hotel has contributed much-needed facilities to the town, including meeting and function rooms, a leisure club with 20m pool (free to residents) and an Elemis spa.

Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the smart well-lit bathrooms all have bath and overbath shower; housekeeping is good, as elsewhere in the hotel.

The restaurant and the busy bars are well-run, and they do a very nice breakfast.

Most of all however, this hotel is notable for friendly and helpful staff who do everything possible to make guests feel at home and ensure a comfortable stay.

Rooms 99. B&B from about €50, suites from €200. Closed 24-26 Dec. MasterCard, Visa, Laser. abbreviations

Home from home to Ireland's politicians, this row of 18th century townhouses has been an hotel since 1921. This Dublin hotels location would be hard to beat and it's reasonably priced for the area; it remains a slightly old-fashioned hotel of character and it's a haven ...
