Solid wine with aromas of cassis, crushed wild berries, and some notes of sous-bois, musky, it is very impressive with some velvet tannins and a huge amplitude.

If you wished to taste  a great Aloxe-Corton, here it is, robust with aromas of red fruits, a great weight, firm tannins  well integrated, it is extremely seductive .

A very attractive and elegant wine with toasty flavours and a medley of scents such as cherries, strawberries and plums, nicely fleshy on the palate, this Pommard is mature enough to be enjoyed now.

It is a fascinating and complex wine, produced by a great winemaker, it has some lovely aromas of ripe red fruits, wild berries and spices, it is very elegant with a great structure gently supported by ageing oak.

A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon at its best. The bouquet is rich, very ripe, the blend is dominated by the Merlot with aromas of red fruits and game. The finish is pleasant more Cabernet with aromas of strawberries.

This wine offers deep and intense colour, the bouquet ranges from Pepper Bell, cherry, figs, liquorice with hints of deep wood, the finish is smooth and long , a wine that you will really enjoy.

At long last, a good Saint Emilion that you can enjoy now by the glass or with your meal, elegant and generous, the bouquet is round and fruity with aromas of cooked fruits, gently oaked, the tannins are well integrated.

Good bouquet of black berries with major cassis. In the mouth, it is surprisingly rounded and it shows nice aromas of ripe berries and cherries.


Château Petit Bocq, Saint Estèphe, 2002            68.00
Very unusual in Saint Estèphe, the Merlot dominates the blend. But the result is great. Good bouquet of cooked fruits, ripe cherries, very well supported by its time aged in oak The finish is elegant with firm tannins.

A lovely wine, with beautiful aromas of blackberries and cooked fruits, elegant and fleshy on the palate, a great concentration with a subtle and long finish, very nice!!

Tasted only recently, we were nicely surprised by this powerful and elegant wine. A charming nose, an explosion of fruit on the palate, with fine tannins, gently woody for a delicious and long finish.

A delicious wine warm and rich, with a great selection of ripe red fruits and black cherries. The tannins are generous, the finish is very impressive, a very serious and charming wine.

Full, fruity, well-structured, it is consistently of a good quality. It is elegant in mouth and the finish is firm.

A little bit tight at the beginning because of its youthfulness, but after a few minutes, it has a ripe blackcurrant and vanilla nose. Big, very ripe with opulent black berries flavours.

Exceptional wine, elegant bouquet with a lovely smell of warm berries jam, fur and dried fruits. After a few minutes of being opened, this wine shows even a more complex nose. On the palate, it is just MAGIC, big on the fruits, rich and subtle with powerful but well integrated tannins, our Favourite.

This estate makes a blend of the best white grapes of the Rhône Valley with a terrific result. This wine is so pleasant, the bouquet is generous and on the palate it is so aromatic, velvety with a nice acidity.
   
Domaine de Montvac, Vacqueyras, 2003            51.00
Clairette, Bourboulec, Grenache Blanc. Most famous for their red, it is a gem to find this on a wine list. Produced and aged in barrels, this wine has a great backbone, some complex aromas of passion fruit, apricot, soft spices and a good acidity. An original wine, very charming and rare.
       
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Saint Dominique, 2004    59.00
A very aromatic, fresh, exotic, fine wine.  Very easy to drink, very pleasant in the mouth complimented with a really good finish .If you want a good value Chateauneuf du Pape white than this is the one.

Condrieu, Domaine du Monteillet, 2003/04                       90.00
This is just pure perfection; this Condrieu is possibly the best on the market. The nose is fantastic and intense, on the palate, it is perfection again with a great concentration of aromas, it would take a page to describe this wine, stunning!!!     

Château Grillet, Neyret Gachet, 2001                108.00   
At last! It has been almost 10 years that we have been looking for this one! One of the rarest wines in France, the bouquet is very pleasant, the acidity is just perfect, the finish so pleasant and smooth.

Les Amis de la Bouïssière, Vin de Table, 2004            34.00
Yes, you read correctly, it is a Table Wine and seriously, we would be foolish to not include this wine on the list. It is a Table Wine simply because the producer is using a grape (Merlot) unauthorised on the appellation. Let your palate judge and you will be nicely surprised.
       
Les Hauts du Monteillet, Vin de Pays, 2004            36.00
Made with Syrah, it is very seductive and rich with lovely aromas of strawberries and raspberries. It also has a great backbone, the aromas are well supported by ageing a few months in barrels giving the wine a long and complex finish, we love it.

Côtes du Rhône Villages, “Cairanne”, Dom. Alary, 2004    39.00       
A great representation of this area. The nose is a little bit tight but afte a few minutes opened, you will notice strong aromas of cooked fruits such as prunes, black cherries, strawberry jam and guarrigue. Very generous with round tannins, this wine has a lot of character.

Penetrating bouquet mixing cooked fruits and ripe berries, this wine is stunning, it is robust with beautiful tannins and a big concentration, Yann Chave shows us again what a brilliant winemaker he is!

A famous Château producing a very generous wine with round aromas of red fruits and also cooked fruits and pepper, finished with firm tannins. A very well made wine, worth trying.

Vacqueyras, Domaine de La Bouïssiere, 2002            47.00   
Grenache, Syrah, Mourv è dre and Cinsault. Stunning wine from our favourite area in the Rhône Valley. A huge bouquet of spicy blackberries, strawberry jam, this wine is rich and elegant with a silky sensation on the palate, a great Vacqueyras.

Next door to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this wine has nothing to covet from its prestigious neighbour. A nose of wild berries and strawberries, it is fine and aromatic, the tannins are very ripe and so well integrated, a serious wine, sublime!!!

A rich and powerful wine with a really charming bouquet and some aromas of black berries, ripe fruits and liquorice. It is so enjoyable, it is like biting into a black cherry.

Saint Joseph, Cuv?e du Papy, 2002                67.00
A very aromatic nose, a rich bouquet of fresh red fruits, mint and soft spices. On the palate, this wine is ample and generous with aromas of strawberry jam, cherry, pepper, violet, the finish is very elegant.
               
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Le Crau de Ma Mère, 2000                   86.00
A blend of all the Southern Rhone Valley grapes producing a well-rounded, powerful and fleshy wine, the bouquet is very complex with notes of prune, ripe cherry and spices, the tannins are generous.

This is a wine which is sublime when left to breathe for at least thirty minutes. Generous with complex flavours of black berries and spices, it is really powerful and elegant.   

Hermitage, Yann Chave, 2003                    123.00
A little bit tight on the nose, it is still young, but be patient, this wine displays an immense potential, after a few minutes open, it is so aromatic, rich, powerful but elegant. From a huge concentration of ripe berries well balanced by firm tannins to some spicy notes combined with scents of ageing oak, this serious wine will surprise you with each sip.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos des Papes, 1998            135.00   
Mourvèdre, Grenache, Counoise, Picardin and Syrah. A top class wine from the town of Châteauneuf du Pape, with a particular blend for this appellation. Very aristocratic, it is starting to show some evolution on the fruits such as blackcurrant, black cherry but also “herbes provençales” and a touch of cedary wood. This wine really shows the true reputation of Châteauneuf du Pape.

Harvested a little later than normal, the wine retains the natural acidity of the Cortese but it is riper than usual by the level of fruit.
       
Verdicchio Classico Superiore, Umani Ronchi, 2004        36.00
“Casal di Serra”. Beautiful wine with good balance and nice acidity. An easy wine to drink, with scents of ripe fruits and a fresh zest of crispiness.

Cortese. A Classic but so charming. This wine has a good acidity and is laden with lemon and apple fruit giving a wonderful rounded mouth feel.

This wine is really special. A soft and charming nose of wild berries and liquorice , the mouth is very pleasant with sweet fruits.

Lovely nose of cooked fruits a little  spicy, easy to drink with sweet fruits, black berries, a soft and long finish.

Dolcetto d’Alba, Pira Luigi, Piedmont, 2004            39.00       
A nice Dolcetto with a great “robe”, rich and full bodied, this wine shows a very good concentration of cooked fruits.

If there is a wine that we want to try every year, it is this one. Produced by a Lady on the beautiful island of Sicily, this wine is rich and complex, using the “terroir” at its best. Let it breathe for a few minutes, and you will be stunned by lovely flavours of cooked fruits, chocolate and spices.
