The World Fleadh

Monday 28th July - Sunday 3rd August 2008

The World Fleadh is Ireland's biggest & best Irish traditional & celtic music festival. The event premiered in Kerry during 2006 and it will move from destination to destination within Ireland each year. After its hugely successful inaugural presentation the 2007 event promises to be even more spectacular in its new home which is only 45 minutes from Ireland's capital.

The World Fleadh is a seven day festival which is staged in a custom built Fleadh Village in the host town and is a unique celebration of Irish culture.

Destinations such as Lorient in France, Glasgow in Scotland, Tonder in Denmark, Dranouter in Belgium, Cambridge in England and Milwaukee in the United States of America (to mention but a few) all host major festivals annually on a grand scale at which many of the worlds best known Irish performers feature prominently year after year-The World Fleadh is Ireland's answer to these overseas events.

The World Fleadh will comprise large scale marquee and outdoor concerts in addition to theatre performances given by the most celebrated Irish traditional and celtic performers in the world in addition to exclusive Irish performances given by a selection of performers from other musical genres. The ethos of the Festival is to showcase not only the best of Irish Music in its purist setting but also to give a platform to the best known innovators and contemporary style performers within the Irish music, song and dance traditions.
