Experience the pleasure of seeing one of the largest waterwheels in Ireland in action

The visitor to Newmills can experience the pleasure of seeing one of the largest waterwheels in Ireland in action as it drives the machinery of the corn mill.

The millrace is 1 km long and powers two separate mill wheels, one for grinding oats and barley and the other for flax. The oldest surviving building here is said to be 400 years old.

24th May - 26th September. Daily 10am-6pm. Last Admission 45 minutes before closing
