Patrick Pearses Cottage

Reconstructed holiday home of Patrick Pearse that contains an exhibition

Patrick Pearse (1879-1916) was the leader of the 1916 Rising. Patrick used this small cottage overlooking the beautiful lakes and mountains of Connemara as a summer residence and summer school for his pupils.

The interior, although burned during the War of Independence, has been reconstructed and contains an exhibition.

Easter Thu-Mon 10am-5pm; 24 May - 29 Aug Daily 10am-6pm; 1-16th Sept Weekends only. Last admission 45 minutes. before closing
