Ashley Park House

From the minute you turn off the busy Nenagh/Borrisokane road towards Ashley Park, you will find yourself in a time warp. Margaret and P J Mounsey’s home is one of those beautiful 18th century houses where all is elegance and comfort - this is a place that breathes an old-fashioned order, comfort and charm.

The views of Lough Ourna right in front of the house, with the distant Slieve Bloom Mountains looming up on the horizon, are stunningly lovely, and guests can walk down to the lakeshore, or through the walled garden. It is a lovely romantic place for a wedding full of old-world charm.

This wedding venues got several churches to choose from in the area for the marriage ceremony, and Margaret will co-ordinate all the details - including laying on a special car or a helicopter if required - and also decorate the house and tables for you. The natural surroundings make a gently relaxed setting for a wedding, and the walled garden and gazebo are perfect for photographs.

A special musician such as a piper, harpist or pianist can be arranged to welcome guests - who will be greeted with champagne, punch or white wine on arrival. The wedding banquet is set up at long tables in the beautiful double dining room, and menus - which are very reasonably priced considering the venue hire charge is built in - include a choice of two dishes on every course.

Fine big country bedrooms with brass or mahogany beds and private bathrooms are available for up to 10 guests.
