Castle Durrow

This 300-year-old mansion half way between Dublin and Cork has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and, overlooking beautiful terraced gardens to the south, and the River Erkina to the north, it makes a magnificently romantic wedding venues.

There are five local churches to choose from - four Catholic and one Church of Ireland - all are beautiful, ranging from large ornate to small country, and wedding blessings are also possible at Castle Durrow. Wedding receptions are held in a private banqueting hall with French doors that open out on to your own private terrace for the whole evening.

A complete package is offered for the wedding day - this includes food and drink for each guest at €110-130 per person, which allows for 2 drinks on arrival for each guest, canapes, the meal, half a bottle of wine per person with dinner, a toast drink for everyone and an evening buffet for all. In addition, complimentary fresh flowers and personalized chocolate favours are provided to complement your chosen colour scheme, and complimentary menu and wine tasting is available for the bride & groom in the lead up to the big day..

Castle Durrow only caters for a maximum of three weddings a week, so the bridal couple and guests can arrive the day before the wedding and stay the day after it: a barbecue can be held on one of these days and is very popular.

The food at Castle Durrow is delicious,  and guest accommodation - in lovely romantic rooms in the main house, and almost equally impressive ones in a wing that is especially suitable for wedding guests - is discounted for weddings, and there are no restrictions. No wonder this is one of the most desirable wedding venues in Ireland.
