Dunraven Arms Hotel
Although it has grown a great deal since it was established in 1792, this family-run hotel has somehow retained the comfortable ambience of a country inn. A very luxurious inn nevertheless and, under the personal management of Bryan and Louis Murphy, extremely well-run.
This wedding venues a great base for sporting activities - equestrian holidays are a speciality and both golf and fishing are available nearby - and has also earned a special reputation for memorable weddings, which have separate catering facilities and are held in a ballroom beside the main hotel, with access to the gardens in fine weather.
There is a beautiful old church beside the hotel and extras like vintage cars, a horse and carriage and a piper or other special welcome can all be arranged, in addition to an attractive all-inclusive package that includes complimentary ballroom hire, accommodation and champagne breakfast for the bride and groom, and tea lights and flowers on tables.
The Dunraven Arms has always taken pride in its food and, with 5-course menus and table service offered from €34, it is good value too.
Accommodation is stylish and very comfortable, and includes a number of suites and junior suites, plenty of ground floor rooms and a family room. There is masses to do in the area too, so guests will enjoy staying on a day or two afterwards.
