Viewmount House

James and Beryl Kearney’s lovely 1750s Georgian house just on the edge of Longford town was once owned by Lord Longford, and is set in four acres of beautiful wooded gardens. It is a delightful house and has been sensitively restored with style, combining elements of grandeur with a human scale that makes guests feel very comfortable.

Nearby churches include Longford Cathedral, and blessings can be arranged at the house. The wedding meal is served in the dining room, where it would be a sit down meal with table service, or a more informal style in a marquee, depending on numbers, and - except for flowers, which are available here in abundance in summer - the couple is responsible for decorating the venue.

This wedding venues accommodation includes seven newer rooms (2006 and 2008) and six older bedrooms, which all have their particular charm (one is especially large, but all are delightful). This is a most appealing house, with open fires, old wooden floors, rugs, antique furniture - and, most importantly, a great sense of hospitality.

Visitors will find that there is much of interest nearby, and the Kearneys who enjoy introducing people to the area - can organise a programme of activities if required.
