In mid-December the Irish pork industry was thrown into turmoil when it emerged that a plant that processed feed for pigs was using unsuitable oil in machinery that resulted in batches of feed being contaminated. There was a huge scare and all Irish pig products were recalled (although only a minority of pig farmers actually used the contaminated feed).
Irish pig products are now back on the supermarket and butcher shelves with guarantees that all meat is free of contamination and that the relevant farms and pigs have been isolated.
Are you 100 per cent confident in relation to eating Irish pig products now?
