The new cookery schedule for 2008 has been announced (see below) with some exciting new courses to their menu board for the Autumn season..

Additional dates are now available for some of the firm favourites, including Southern Italian and Quick & Easy Entertaining, or if you are looking for something to do with the kids before the school year starts here’s one not to be missed…

Head Chefs & Junior Chefs

August will see the introduction of a new innovative, novel cookery course for adults and children – guaranteed fun learning and bonding in the kitchen. Parents & children, aunts & nieces, godfathers and godchildren come together to learn the skill of patience and support to the budding chefs. This is a fun hands-on kids and adults cookery class and includes light supper and your own suite of recipes to take home. And hopefully once school starts your young chefs will be able to assist you in the kitchen.

Autumn will also see more work on the Ballyknocken Kitchen Garden and the Cookery Courses at Ballyknocken will have an even more seasonal flair with A Taste of Autumn and harvesting herbs at Ballyknocken, Winter Entertaining to the return of Renowned Caterer, Georgina Philips from Wild Thyme, when she shares her flair and makes entertaining at home easy!

Ballyknocken House & Cookery School If a one day Cookery Course is not enough to cut it, why not consider enrolling on the NEW 3 Day Programme Teaching you all the skills required for Delicious Dinner Parties. As an art domestic cooking has undergone serious change with competition between friends and family in what is put on the table. Cooking is an important social interaction and aspect of family life and should be indulged with passion – this three day course is the answer to all your Dinner Party prayers. This new programme includes menu planning, table setting, food presentation and guarantees you will come away with a signature recipe ensuring a dinner party your friends will remember.

For the wine buff wannabe there is the Wine Masterclass with Nectar Wines talking the terror out of the terroir as you learn about your Bordeaux and your Burgundy – a fun and informative class.

Ballyknocken Cookery School truly offers the flavours of the globe with exotic, tantalising and sometimes spicy courses; Catherine Fulvio will show you how to bring the tastes and flavours of the World to your plate. From Sushi to Tapas, Vietnamese to Mexican, Indian to Thai, Ballyknocken Cookery School will show you the kitchens from around the globe and how they work, as well as entertaining style classes based on local artisan produce!

Ballyknocken Cookery School continues to enjoy a busy schedule with chef / proprietor Catherine Fulvio hosting cookery demonstrations both at home (Bloom) and abroad (Good Food Show, UK) in between hosting Cookery Courses, radio interviews and TV Cookery Slots.

As always Ballyknocken continues to provide private cookery courses, with the menu chosen by the guests. The Christmas Party will also be a big hit again this year so don’t leave it too late to book your Cracking Christmas Party at Ballyknocken.

Accommodation is also available at the recently refreshed 4**** Ballyknocken House.
Ballyknocken House is located only 29 miles south of Dublin City.
 
Ballyknocken Cookery School has been running for 3 years and has attracted much national and international attention, having appeared on Discovery, with Mrs Kurihara (the Delia of Japan) in her Stekkei magazine, on RTE and TV3.  In addition Catherine is also a cookery writer for the Irish Garden Magazine.
