Modern wine with lots of toasty oak richness. Not
necessarily an obvious St. Estèphe, this is very attractive
in its mocha-coffeeish way.

The second wine of the famed Gruaud Larose – this wine
has several years bottle age and it is just reaching its peak
of drinking (which it should remain for the next 2 years) with
toffee, spice, leather, blackcurrants and all jostling for
recognition on the palate – a truly excellent Saint Julien.

Dark, macerated, blackberry fruit, with a buttery edge from
the residual fruit. Sweet, with immediate impact on entry.
Grippy, structured, but packed with loads of blackberry fruit.
Nice texture and substance here.

This wine has been in short supply of late due to high
demand and low production. It has a ripe bouquet, is soft
and well balanced, with good length.

fresh and well balanced gentle new oak influence,
medium to full bodied, quite an earthy character,
a very good offering.

This vineyard suffered most this vintage where they could
only use half the crop, very deep colour, rich spicy nose
medium bodied, and powerful with an impressive long finish.

Delicate nose with peach and almond aromas, citrus and
apple flavour, lively acidity and a well balanced finish

This unique wine is made by the “Ripasso” method which semi dries
the grapes and then re-ferments. This results in a classic
wine which is rich, full bodied, round and velvety with an ageing
capacity of 15 years.

208 La Selvanella Chianti Classico Reserve 1999 €35.00

Intense nose, characterised by a marked finesse. Violet and raspberry
aromas are underlined by spicy scents of cloves and vanilla. Warm and harmonious on the palate with an aristocratic finish almonds and fruits of the forest.

A dense colour with a rich captivating bouquet, robust
and harmonious, complex, excellent to drink now,
but also will age.

210 Poggio San Polo Rosso di Montalcino 2001 €100

This traditional Rosso shows a deep red colour
and aromas of cherries, blackberries and hints
of vanilla (aged in used Salvonian oak for 13 months),
and smooth, perfectly integrated tannins.

211 Poggio San Polo Brunello di Montalcino 1998 €140

A focused and pretty 1998 Brunello with wonderfully
integrated, silky tannins and plenty of ripe fruit. This is
full-bodied and a long layered finish.
Always excellent but best now and after 2005.

302 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Riesling 2004 €28.00

Attractive bouquet with hints of honeysuckle and mandarin, the
palate is intensely fruity with soft citrus flavours. Well-balanced
acidity levels maintain the flavours resulting in the long and lingering
finish.

Golden yellow in colour, pungent wild flower nose.
Dry with firm acidity

304 Cape Mentelle Semillon / Sauvignon €40.00

Pungent aromas of lemon grass and a steely finish
leaving the palate with a full and creamy texture,
counterbalanced by zingy citrus flavours. The clean
crisp finish gives the wine great focus and length.

305 Colonial vineyard “L’Expatrie , Barossa Semillon 2003 €40.00

Light yellow robe with vibrant pale golden hues. Nose exhibits
honeyed peach and lime fruit. It displays Semillon characters with a
fresh, fruity lift, and a hint of honeyed oak. Crisp and medium-bodied
on the palate. The wine has a lingering finish.

‘Black label’A classic Hawkes Bay sauvignon, with a pungent
bouquet, ripe flavours of green fruits and citrus,
medium bodied with a crisp refreshing finish.

Carefully controlled vinification in French oak
barrels with extended lees contact results in intense
fruit flavours and a subtle but complex finish

gooseberries. Fresh and crisp with a luscious tropical
palate and a lingering classic finish.

309 Hamilton Russell Vineyards Chardonnay 2002 €40.00

South Africa’s most famous Chardonnay. Lemon, grapefruit and
pear fruits on the nose. On the palate, the wine is viscous but with
a dry, pebbly character and a bright natural freshness gives a pleasing
lingering finish to the wine.

A classic mix of plum, cherry and ripe aromas,
supported by very fine spice oaks complexity with
lovely sweet plum fruit on the mid palate, fine tannins,
and a long soft finish. A beauty, much loved by wine critics.

311 Colonial Vineyard, Shiraz 2003 The Explorer €45.00

Classic ripe Shiraz that is handpicked from old Shiraz
vines based in the north of the Barossa Valley. The grapes
are double-sorted – by bunch and then by grape – on arrival
at the winery and, after fermentation, aged in French and
American oak for a year. Purple in colour with a round,
enveloping taste.
