Alilang Korean Restaurant

A bright and simply decorated room with country pine furniture is home to this authentic Korean restaurant. serving tasty and exceptionally reasonably priced food. Aside from offering good quality for the price (endorsed by the local Asian community who frequent the restaurant), there's a unique feature at Allilang - each table has its own gas 'barbecue' ring set into it, allowing customers to finish their own dishes at table.

In the oriental style, there are set menus which are a good choice for a first visit or, if you are in a group the extensive main menus encourage wide-ranging orders and lots of sharing which would be more fun - starters like kimchi jun, for example (a potato pancake filled with the famous Korean relish, kimchi, and served with finely chopped leeks, garlic, sesame seeds & soy sauce), or the nine-variety Royal Appetiser which is a combination dish of thin pancakes, seasoned meat and vegetables and a dipping sauce.

Then there are dishes to cook at your table - plenty to choose from, such as very lean and thinly sliced marinated beef, which you cook to taste and dip in sesame or chilli sauce, or wrap in lettuce leaves.

All good fun, and you can choose between Asian beers, wine or green tea to wash it down - and the fresh sliced fruit offered to finish is a nice touch.

Seats 40. Open 7 days.
