The Barge Steakhouse

John and Rose Pierce's inviting stone bar and restaurant on the main street begins with a characterful bar with a welcoming open fire at the front and progresses to the restaurant and conservatory, with a beer garden at the back.

There's a daytime bar menu as well as an à la carte for the restaurant; the style is quite traditional offering starters like garlic mushrooms or prawn cocktail and steaks are the main speciality.

Freshly prepared homely food and good value are the reasons for the Barge's popularity and there's a children's menu too, and a short wine list.

*Marquee available for private functions.

Seats 90 (32 in conservatory; private room 21); not suitable for children after 9pm; toilets wheelchair accessible. Food served 12-8.40 daily, L 12-6, D 6-8.40. A la carte. House wines from about €14. Closed 25 Dec & Good Fri. MasterCard, Visa, Laser. abbreviations
