Delphi Lodge

One of Ireland’s most famous sporting lodges, Delphi Lodge was built in the early 19th-century by the Marquis of Sligo, and is magnificently located in an unspoilt valley, surrounded by the region’s highest mountains (with the high rainfall so dear to fisherfolk).

Owned since 2011 by Michael Wade, the lodge is large and impressive in a relaxed, understated way.

The guest rooms are all quite different, but they have lovely lake and mountain views, good bathrooms, and are very comfortably furnished.

Although most famous for salmon and trout fishing, Delphi Lodge is also an ideal holiday hideaway for those who simply seek a quiet rural retreat - and its romantic setting makes it  a lovely venue for small to medium sized off season weddings.

Small conferences/banqueting (20/30); free broadband wi/fi. Rooms 12 (all executive standard). B&B €135 pps, ss €35. Residents D 8pm; D €55; L Sun only 1-2pm, €16. Well-chosen house wine, €28; SC discretionary. Children welcome (under 8s free in parents room, cot available free of charge). Fly fishing, hunting/shooting, cycling, snooker, walking.
